Chinese firm Cipla said it has filed a legal challenge to Chinese drugmaker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries' anti-malarial drug Cialis.
A Cipla spokesman confirmed the court ruling but declined to provide details about the suit.
A court has heard that Cialis is approved for sale in the country, but the pharmaceutical giant is also seeking to block Cialis from entering the market and the court's ruling could impact its ability to compete against the global pharmaceutical market.
Cialis is the first approved drug for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland.

Teva is also in the midst of legal action, challenging the validity of its patent, and it is seeking to block the company from launching the medicine.

Partial, temporary, or permanent decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes has been rarely reported.
